The New York State Education Department (NYSED) website provides information as it relates to:

To promote, develop and support adult education programs with the goal of providing adult students with successful pathways and transition to post-secondary education, apprenticeship training, and the workforce.
To prepare all English Language Learners/Multilingual Learners for success beginning in prekindergarten to lay the foundation for college and career readiness.
New York Career and Technical Education is committed to providing high-quality CTE opportunities for all students. Through School Districts, BOCES and postsecondary institutions.
The Office of Early Learning provides oversight and technical support to school districts in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs and policies related to educating students in prekindergarten to third grade that are aligned with the NYS Board of Regents Early Childhood Policy. It also provides parent resources.
Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
Information regarding a student’s education rights when transitioning in and out of institutional care. (Residential contracted with Office of Children and Family Services, Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Office of Mental Health, and the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities as well as the local department of social services and county correctional facilities.
To make sure they are promptly enrolled and admitted to attendance in such district, and that school district personnel cooperate with such facilities in facilitating such prompt enrollment.

Provides information regarding the High School Equivalency Test the (TASC)Testing and Assessing Secondary Completion including brochure, prep courses and test locations.
The Native American Education Unit allocates State funding and aids public school districts that educate Native American children residing on reservations throughout the State. It also administers the New York State Indian Aid program, which provides funding for Native American students attending postsecondary schools.

Preschool (P) through grade 12

(CPSE) Committee on Preschool Special Education
This section allows you to review information regarding children who are just entering the New York State Education System at the age of three until they start kindergarten services.
(CSE) Committee on Special Education
Individuals who would like to access this fall under students who are looking for supports and services in school who fall under special education. Individuals would have an Individualized Educational Profile (IEP) or be seeking additional supports and services in school. The following supports are for students 5-21 attending school.
(EI) Early Intervention Services
Transitioning in to school age from a daycare or in-home services where early intervention (EI) services were provided. The information here is to assist you with successfully transitioning your child from EI services provided through the Department of Health (DOH) to receiving services through (NYSED).
Transition Planning for life after high school
Transition Planning beginning no later than the age of 14 is identified here by NYSED. The information will help you prepare and be part of your (or your child’s) future planning for life after high school.

NY State Junior Colleges
This section of the SUNY website will take you directly to community colleges. It will provide you information on extracurriculars, degrees/programs as well as if the community college as on campus housing opportunities.
College Board is an opportunity to complete all your college education plans online. It will let you upload and track all your information. It provides step by step instructions on how to upload documents such as recommendation letters from teachers, additional activities, SAT/ACT scores and test sights. You set up your own personal account and can save items here necessary when applying to colleges.
